Polyvore is a website that lets people create collages of apparel and accessories using images from any online store. I stumbled upon Polyvore because I kept seeing collages of fashionable outfits on Pinterest. And after clicking on them to see where they originated I kept ending up at Polyvore. After landing there a few times I decided to investigate what this Polyvore 'thing' was.

My evaluation...POLYVORE is an AMAZING online tool. Immediately, I kept thinking of ways students could use this tool. The possibilities for education are numerous...character studies, book reports, persuasive writing, and more. The key to remember is the images that are available come from online stores. So if you can buy it online then it should be available in Polyvore.

SMORE.COM...Not the S,more you Eat

It is Fall and s'mores are the treat of choice at my house. This post is about Smore.com, a web-based flyer maker I have newly discovered. Their logo "beautiful pages instantly", is precise. I created the s'more flyer above for an upcoming workshop in about 5 minutes flat. The flyers can be linked, embedded (as seen above), printed, emailed, posted to Facebook, Twitter, and Craigslist right from the s,more toolbox. Just think how you and your students could use this tool to create reviews, newsletters, advertisements, and more.

LiveBinders - "Your 3-ring binder for the web"

Booktalk LiveBinder  (PhotoStory & Glogster options) 9.12.12

LiveBinder is a great collecting place for links all pertaining to a topic/subject/project etc. It makes gathering resources easy for a project and students appreciate having everything in one spot. My tip for LiveBinder...make all links open in a new window. It keeps things cleaner and easier for students to follow.
